Volunteer

Your voluntary service should serve to inspire others to get involved. If you have previously volunteered with The Mission House please feel free to share your stories and experiences, how you helped, how it changed you and whether you served at home or overseas.

Please contact our team and we’ll post it on our site as an encouragement to others.

Vision Trips

The purpose of a Vision Trip is to give a person an experience of mission and the local culture.

Typically lasting between 7 -14 days, this trip includes visits to projects, local places of interest, enjoyment of the local culture and for those wishing for direct involvement, there can be hands-on opportunities too. As a result of the experience most people will want ‘to do something’ to help.

Fundraise

Why not volunteer and use your hobby or pastime in the same way and help the impoverished and hurting in the world?

For example, two retired ladies (unrelated to each other) are both committed to the vision of The Mission House. One produces home made marmalade and the other lady designs and prints greetings cards. They then pass on their profits to The Mission House where we can use them to bring help and hope to those in need in Madagascar.

Perhaps one of your hobbies might be shopping online? No cost, no catch – why not join Easy Fundraising and help The Mission House raise money every time you shop online!

Active Fundraising

For those of you who are more active, why not take part in a sponsored walk, run, swim, climb, ride or any other challenge alike?!

Let us know about your sponsored challenge and help us to help those in need?

Organise an event

Some people love to organise one-off events to help raise money for The Mission House. These can be large or small, high or low profile and for most one of the most favoured ways of fundraising.

What could you do? Let’s discuss your ideas!

An Invitation To You

Prayer is at the heart of all we do…

Prayer shows the love of God in action…

We can all pray. Prayer is powerful and does make a difference.

We invite you to be part of our Prayer Shield to cover, protect and support The Mission House with your prayers.

You may either

• Sign up to become a Prayer Partner to receive Prayer Partner Updates

• Commit to praying as and when you’re able focusing on the topics listed:

  1. For us all to be more effective vehicles for the Lord and carrying out the Father’s will.
  2. Always growing in grace, knowledge and wisdom; for His leading and guiding in whatever and wherever He leads us.
  3. For passion in outreach to grow throughout the Body and for many more people to become engaged in wherever He leads, (Jesus said the harvest is ready but the labourers few).
  4. For Field Staff and their spiritual and physical safety at all times.
  5. For all resources. Although everything belongs to the Lord, we still need to ask. He knows what we need before we ask Him, but He wants us to pray to deepen our faith and our relationship with Him.
  6. We can’t progress without Him: ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give it to you.’ (John 15:16) ESV.
  7. Ambitious plans require resources to meet them. He wants us to ask because it reinforces our awareness of our dependence on Him and strengthens our faith.
  8. That the Lord will add more Prayer Partners to us because we know that “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders toil in vain. “(Psalm 127:1)
